The Hi-Desert Cultural Center’s multi-theater complex serves as the Joshua Tree National Park gateway communities’ primary source for hi-quality theatrical performances and education. For over 50 years, the Cultural Center’s award-winning Hi-Desert Playhouse division has provided the area’s best in professional, community, and youth theater productions. The Hi-Desert Cultural Center was started by retired actors, directors, and producers from Hollywood and first began serving the cultural needs of its surrounding communities in 1964.  In 1967, the Center was officially incorporated as a not-for-profit under the name Hi-Desert Playhouse Guild, Inc. and by 1980 construction on its main theater building was completed.

IPAC is a 23,000 sq. ft. facility with a main hall, the Expo Hall; three separate theaters that are approximately 2,200 sq. ft. each: Village Theatre, Cabaret Theatre, and the Old Towne Playhouse; two conference rooms; bar and kitchen preparation area. Ample parking is available. The Village Theatre can show movies and the Old Towne Playhouse has a stage for theater and music productions. There are five restrooms and a large dressing room area. Tables and chairs may be available upon request.

Palm Canyon Theatre is a nonprofit, 501(c)3 organization dedicated to the education of live stage production and the enrichment of the greater Palm Springs community and its visitors. The regional repertory theater company operates primarily with volunteers and produces about 13 Broadway musicals and classic plays each year, plus offers a children’s theatre camp and production. These managers adopted Community Concerts and made it part of their new venture. With Columbia Artists’ impressive roster as its source for performers and attractions, the success of Community Concerts was assured. “A Carnegie Hall in Every Town” became the company’s proud slogan.

The Morongo tribe was one of nine small reservations set aside by President Grant by executive order in 1876. In 1983,  tribal members started a modest bingo hall. From this building evolved one of the oldest and most successful Native American casinos in California. The present $250 million destination which opened in late 2004, the Morongo Casino, Resort & Spa, is one of the largest tribal gaming facilities in the nation.
